University Student wins Grand Prize in nationwide Melrose Mini drawing
January 9 2004--Austin, Texas, January, 5, 2004: Chirag Shah was one of over 20,000 entries submitted by college students across the country who visited Melrose Student Apartment Communities last year. He is currently a junior at the University of Texas in Austin. Shah was selected as the contest winner back in September, when the car was subsequently put on special order. The big day arrives this Wednesday, January 14, when he will drive home in his new BMW Mini Cooper S. Members of the Melrose Corporate Team will award Mr. Shah with the prize at the BMW dealership on Airport Blvd. in San Antonio, Texas. CEO, Mark Harris declared, “The performance and design of the Mini are unique and outside of the box. Like the Melrose experience, this car exceeds expectations and brings great value to those invested. Congratulations to Chirag!” Several housing scholarships were also awarded to college students throughout the country. John Kerrigan, Director of Marketing stated, “United Campus Housing is thrilled about the presentation but more importantly about the opportunity to reward young people for their hard work while attending school.” And lastly, when questioned about the results of the giveaway, Chirag replied, “Living at Melrose has been a wonderful experience . . . and winning a free car? That is just icing on the cake.”
