Is the Short Story Dead?
January 28 2004--For years, many have proclaimed the death of poetry, short stories, and even the novel, but Writers Notes on-line, the international free resource tool at www.WritersNotes.com, doesn’t believe people have stopped reading. Enter the first annual Writers Notes Writing Awards for fiction and nonfiction.
“We recognize the fact that reading shares time with the diverse media available for entertainment,” says Senior Editor Christopher Klim (author of Jesus Lives in Trenton and Everything Burns). “Although good reading seizes your attention. Our diverse worldwide audience proves that.”
Writers Notes will award cash prizes and publication contracts in two wide-open categories for fiction and nonfiction.
“Most writing will be accepted under 5000 words,” says Klim. “We’re looking for an eclectic and entertaining mix.”
